Obituary
Martin G. Patt, passed away on 8/1/2013, at the age of 74. He was a cherished son, husband, father, papa, and friend. Marty is survived by his wife, Marcia (Wasilewski) Patt, his children, Adam Patt and Jodi Patt Pellettiere, his granddaughter, Brooke Pellettiere, and his mother, Esther R. Patt. He is preceded by his father, Max E. Patt. Born and raised in Chicago, Marty made a lasting, positive, and witty impression on everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. His passion for living a life of love, fun, and adventure all with a sense of humor was evident in his interactions with friends, family, and clients. He had an affection for traveling, collecting antiques, and racing his car with the Porsche Club of America. Marty loved many members of the animal kingdom. Some of his beloved pets over the years included dogs Petunia, Maggie, and Teddi, a dozen or so hamsters, a duck, a skunk named Flower, and a Hampshire pig named Oink Johnson. An entrepreneur who co-founded Maxam Assurance Agency with his dad, Marty was dedicated to servicing his clients and proud to keep the business in the family working alongside his son, Adam. After 42 years of marriage, Marty and Marcia still held hands, kissed, and made each other laugh every day. The type of love they shared was a model for their children, granddaughter, and friends. He never missed a game, match, show, or recital of either of his children; he was a t-ball coach, Chief of an Indian Guides tribe and of an Indian Princesses tribe, and captain of family road trips. Perhaps most importantly, Marty always had an ear to listen, a shoulder to lean on, and sound advice to provide. His grand- daughter Brooke was the light of his life for the past four and a half years, and he found immense joy in playing with her and teaching her new things. Marty never complained–he was brave and focused on living and loving. The world has lost one of the great ones. He will be missed and remembered lovingly by all who knew him.
