Bruce Alan Kaplan

I met Bruce many years ago when working on real estate projects in downtown Chicago. I remember him well as he treated me with respect and good humor always. I am saddened to learn of his difficult illness and untimely passing. Bruce and his family are in my prayers.

“Kap” and I became long-time friends since 1970 college days in Upstate NY…We played tennis, hit Buffalo Bills football games @ Rich Stadium in the days of OJ Simpson, QB Joe Ferguson, attended NBA Buffalo Braves’ games as Coach Dr. Jack Ramsay,sharp-shooters Bob McAdoo, Ernie DeGregorio and Buffalo’s own Randy Smith lead the team to glory ! His humor, empathetic nature, point of view, resolve, smarts and love of family went a long way in life..Bruce was a member of our wedding party Aug. 9. 1975 in Long Beach, CA., and with no rehearsal, delivered a rousing rendition of “Summer Time” on flute as he joined the John Prince jazz quartet @ the reception…
Melinda & I were fortunate to have dinner with Bruce & Caren a couple years ago in California… Each May & June we’d exchange humorous b’day cards. Our best thoughts to Caren, Linda & Greg at this time.. Alas, Kap’s spirit lives on !!!-Bill Marks 12/11/13

I will always be very grateful for the many lessons Bruce taught me. He demanded much from those he had much faith in. I was honored to be one of those.
