Jay M. Caplan, 84, beloved husband of the late Cynthia; loving father of Michael (Lisa); brother of Gordon (Phyllis) and the late Malcolm (Esther); treasured cousin, friend and ‘uncle’ of many. Jay was in the printing business for many years and had a deep passion for the arts. In particular, he loved photography and music of many traditions, especially the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He was also an avid magician and was a longstanding member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians. Chapel service Monday 10 AM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Chicago Botanic Garden.
