Naomi Rosenberg, nee Kaplan, beloved wife of the late Arnold for 48 years; loving mother of Gail (Fred) Varhula; Cheryl (Larry) Appleman and Nancy (Kevin) Nagourney; cherished grandma of Allison, Ben, Carly, Sam, Douglas, Robyn and Jason; treasured sister of the late Lee (Natalie) and the late Donald (Joy) Kaplan; adored aunt, sister-in-law and dear friend to so many. Chapel service 12:15 PM Friday at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. I’m not sure if this is the Naomi Kaplan I remember from grade school or not. I grew up in Kenosha, WI and there was a lovely girl named Naomi Kaplan who went to Lincoln Elementary School with me. Naomi was vey shy and I always thought she was a bit mysterious and longed to get to know her better but I, too, was very shy. I got up courage to ask her to my birthday party when I was in 4th grade.

Naomi was such a great spirit. My husband Dave and I just really thought she was special. She knew EVERYONE and those she didn’t, she couldn’t have been more welcoming, friendly and interested in.
My sister is a patient at City of Hope in Los Angeles and she always asked about her and her experience there.
We are so sorry for your loss but so grateful to have known her
