Marillyn was an amazing woman. She never took credit for anything, but preferred to make me feel good about what I did with the little work (compared to her) that I did for the town of Penza in Russia. It is a real loss to those who were inspired by Marillyn to do good for others. Marillyn worked tirelessly for the good of mankind. It was a privilege to know her.

To the family of dear friend, Marillyn. I was and still am a member of the Panel of Amrican Women. Marillyn was a tireless contributing member. We all loved her and felt privileged to be her friend. We learned so much from her. I loved her and missed her in recent years. You were all lucky to have her in your lives. kek robien

Marillyn was such a wise, caring person. Her extraordinary leadership skills and depth of knowledge, together with her empathy and compassion made Marillyn one of her generation’s most significant Jewish leaders. Her commitment and contribution to Jewish education, whether in her own community or the far flung reaches of the former Soviet Union, was legendary. Marillyn was a woman whose life was filled with meaning. She served and will continue to serve as an inspiration to all those who were privileged to know and work with her. Yehi zichra baruch. May her memory be a blessing.

I am so sorry to learn of Marillyn’s passing. She was an amazing mentor, colleague and friend who I had the pleasure to work with for almost a decade in the 90’s on behalf of human rights issues. She was one of the most determined women I have known, and always made things happen with a smile. I will miss her, and will never forget her.

Marillyn was truly an inspiration to me. She was a wonderful teacher, making history come alive with meaning and connections. She was embracing, warm, and had a great smile and a wonderful sense of humor. Everyone adored her. A true role model for Jewish women, or any woman, showing empathy, scholarship, and humanity. I will truly miss her, as I thought of her often even though I haven’t seen her in many years.

Marilyn was one of the very best people I had the pleasure of knowing. She gave of her self and changed the world through her teaching and Chicao Action for Soviet Jewry. Marilyn enlisted me to travel to the FSU in 1987 and gave me a chance to do good. There is no greater gift than getting folks to help the needy. Her goodness, and sense of humor, will never be forgotten. May we never forget the lessons she taught us. God Bless and her family.
