Toby Jane Cherny

Toby’s shining spirit of kindness and her smile will always be remembered. In the twenty years we worked together at Oakton, I looked to her as my “big sister”. We worked well as a team and we shared many life experiences with our “day family”.Toby’s gift of joy was especially felt by the many students that she helped through mentoring and other good deeds. I pray for her soul to be close to God, and that her family will be comforted at this difficult time. She will always be remembered by those who knew and loved her.

I had the pleasure of working with Toby as both a special needs student and later as a fellow Oaktonite. She gave me a ton of encouragement and a lot hints on how to make my life a little easier both as a student and later as a new full-time employee at the college. I will miss her smile the most. She was a great lady. I would like to extend my sympathies to her family.

I am so sorry to here about Toby’s passing. I enjoyed working with Toby at Oakton Community College, Skokie campus. She will be missed. May her memory be for a blessing.

I am so sorry upon hearing about Toby’s passing. Toby was a friend at work as well as a Girl Scout leader with me many years ago when our girls were young. She will be missed with her stories about her children whom she is very proud.
