Obituary

Josef Dembo, 86, Holocaust survivor, beloved husband of the late Goldie; loving father of Harold (Lisa) and Philip (Linda); cherished Papa and Zadie of Stacey (Adam), Leslee, Robert, Elizabeth (Jeremy) and Justin; dear brother-in-law of the late Jeanette (Sam) Fierstein, the late Abe (the late Sylvia) and the late Manny (Tybie) Diamond; treasured uncle and friend of many. Chapel Service Monday 12:15 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. I was very close to Aunt Goldie and Uncle Joe throughout my life. I have wonderful memories. As a baby, I would sit on Uncle Joe’s knee as he bounced my while singing, “Brush your teeth with Colgate……” He was learning English. Since he hard a hard time pronouncing the letter “h”, he called me “Hollie.” While I will miss him very much, I know that he has been reunited with family. Zikrono zekher zaddick liverakhah.
