Peter Mayer

We had the pleasure of working with Pete for many years when he was with the Journal newspaper. He was a true gentleman. Pete always went above and beyond expectations. We had the greatest time talking with him, as he enlightened us with stories about his military years (even enjoyed viewing his books). He will be missed dearly. You don’t meet wonderful souls like him everyday!

I LAST SPOKE TO PETE ON MAY 18,2013 AND WAS GOING TO VISIT HIM IN WAUCONDA
WHEN I GOT A CHANCE. I WAS A DIRECTOR ON MEDI-CHECK WITH HIM AND GAVE HIM A CHECK FROM THE CLARK-HALLADAY FOUNDATION EVERY YEAR SO HE COULD
CONTINUE HIS GOOD WORKS. PETE GAVE OVER 20,000 MEDICAL INFORMATION
METALS TO BE WORN AROUND THE NECK. PETE HELPED SO MANY PEOPLE IN HIS
LIFE AND HE LOVED DOIND IT.

Mr. Mayer was such a sweet man. I met with him on a couple of occasions and we discovered that his daughter Tracie was a friend of mine. I feel honored to have gotten to know him and work with him and to share some common experiences through my children and his grandchildren. Certain people stand out of the crowd and Mr. Mayer did. He will be missed. I wish peace and happy memories to his surviving loved one.
