My dear, dear friend Jerry.

I am so sorry I did not hear of your passing until today. You used to read the most intriguing books and were often in awe of the things you learned in them. You loved the intellectual exercise of learning new concepts and relished the discussing, debating, and trying to debunk them. We probably argued about everything under the sun and I will miss those discussions and your righteous indignation! But most of all, I will miss your kind heart and your faithful friendship.

Just heard the news today. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Jerry was a wonderful and dear person, and a great influence in my life. He taught me to value the important things, at a very important age.

Jerry and I worked together for over 15 years. I liked to say we were always equal because he was my landlord and he worked for me at the same time.
