Norman M. Chase

Dear Lorraine and family, I am so terribly sorry to learn of the lose of your beloved Norm. What a bright and brilliant star he was in all aspects of the word. I have wonderful memories of him, especially when he so warmly welcomed me into the “cousin’s club” and made me feel comfortable and at ease. I often think of the nice times we all spent together and firmly feel that he was the glue that held us all together. He was a giant among men and made the world shake with his laughter and made the universe nicer with his kindness. My belated thoughts and prayers are with you all. Eunice

I was deeply saddened upon hearing of Mr. N. Chase’s passing. I was hired by Mr. Chase as a secretary for his son, Paul. I worked for him for 3 yrs. To Mrs. Chase and her family, my deepest sympathy and prayers are with you. I truly enjoyed working in Mr. Chase’s office. Also, very thankful for the opportunity Mr. Chase gave me to work there. My prayers are also with him.

Norman, his law partner Herman Werner, and Paul gave me my first opportunity in the legal profession in Chicago. I have many fond memories of Norman, and his great sense of humor. My sincerest condolences to Lorraine, Paul, Beth, Leslie and the rest of the family.

I met Paul his son first who introduced me to his Dad for a business opportunity. I met Norman and instantly took to him. He was always so kind to me even though I was just a vendor in the beginning. I remember my first visit to his office, he had some pictures on his wall from his Africa trip of long ago. He told me all about the trip and how much he loved it. I told him that was top of my bucket list. I made my trip in 2012 and he wanted to hear all about – I shared some books with him and inscribed the front to him – he called and said when do you want them back. So like him, he thought they were on loan. He always made me feel like he truly cared about me. I always felt as though he treated me as if he were a father figure to me.

I am so very sorry to the family and I truly will miss my conversations with him.
