My heartfelt condolences to the family, staff and co-workers. I called today to make an appointment and was told that he had passed.
After being Dr. Frankel’s patient about eleven years ago, I had just recently returned again in 2012 because of some additional feet problems. Dr. Frankel was just as I remembered him, an easy going doctor who was very pleasant, an excellent communicator who explained the procedure thoroughly and, most importantly, trustworthy.
He will truly be missed. May he rest in peace.

I am sad and shocked to hear about Dr. Frankel. I just found out from my daughter that Dr. Frankel passed away October 2014. He performed my foot surgery fifteen years ago. As a matter of fact, he also performed foot surgery on my coworker the same day as me.
Dr. Frankel had a warm personality. As a patient, he made me feel very secure about my surgery and promised that everything was going to be ok. For years, I have been telling every person who needs foot surgery to go see Dr. Frankel, because he is the best.
Not to mention, my daughter called today to make an appointment for herself and she was told the sad news.
He will not be forgotten.
Dr. Frankel, thank you for giving me pretty feet again!

Dr. Frankel has been my doctor for at least 10 years. He was always kind, welcoming, and showed interest in me as a patient not just my foot problem. I started having foot problems again and after 3 months decided to make an appointment with Dr. Frankel. After receiving the news of his passing I’m devastated. My prayers are with his family, friends, co-workers and his
other patients. Dr. Frankel’s passing is a tremendous loss to us all.

I discovered Dr. Neal Frankle when I was researching the best way to have my bunions removed. I came across his name and practice and was eager and enthused to meet him to have this surgery performed. After meeting Dr. Frankle, I was totally at peace with going forward. He had the best bed side manners. He listened to my concerns and fears and answered questions in a way that I was able to understand. He will be missed.
My condolences to his family. May God bring comfort to the hearts of the loved ones he left behind.

Dr. Frankel performed two surgeries which were totally successful, however, what I remember most is his wonderful sense of humor and he adored his family. If ever I asked Dr. Frankel for extra supplies he always accommodated without question. Also, he and I enjoyed lively debates about organized labor which he had personal insight, because one of his male cousin’s is an educator. I am deeply sadden by this tremendous loss and my most sincere condolences to Dr. Frankel’s wife, mother, sister and the entire extended family.

I’m sorry to hear of the loss of Dr. Frankel, who has been taking care of my foot issues for nearly a year now. What a loss to all; my heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. When last I saw him, he gave me the benefit of his wisdom and experience by providing good advice about orthotics I was considering. I planned on telling him at our next appointment how I had danced at my second of three special weddings this year…that I danced without pain or discomfort, that I wore ‘pretty shoes’ once again, thanks to him. Dr. Frankel will be missed by many.

My sister Karen and I traveled to Chicago to have Dr. Frankel remove our bunions. We had looked for a Dr. for forever to have this done, and we found Dr. Frankel who was the most caring Dr. I had ever met. He was so patient with you and really cared about you, and your feet.
I am glad I had the opportunity to meet Dr. Frankel, he truly was one of the great doctors you only hear about. I am glad we had the opportunity to meet him and have our feet done. He will be missed.

Words cannot express how heavy my heart is…. but at the same time I feel so very fortunate and happy to have known Dr. Frankel.
My sister and I searched for two years to find someone to do our bunion surgery. Who knew that we would travel from the West Coast to the Midwest to have surgery with a doctor we had never met! Our conversations both online and on the phone made us feel confident and off we went to Chicago!.
We were not disappointed… surgery was great!
Dr. Frankel was a kind and generous person… I already miss him. He always brings a smile to my face when I look at my beautiful feet…

Dear Family of Dr. Frankel:
I was so devastated to hear of the untimely passing of Dr. Frankel; I cannot imagine how this loss has affected all of you.
My brother (who lives in Indiana) had a bunionectomy by Dr. Frankel and recommended him highly to me; I knew if my brother found a doctor that he liked and trusted, that Dr. Frankel was a winner.
Dr. Frankel performed two bunionectomies for me in January and March of 2014. He was the kindest, most knowledgeable, personable physician I have ever known. I loved his sense of humor! One time we were discussing what kind of shoes I would be able to wear after the surgeries, and he said, “Just bring them in next time and I’ll take a look at them.” Then he laughed and said, “That reminds me of one of my patients who brought in an entire suitcase filled with all her shoes; must have been 30 pairs!” We had a good laugh, and I assured him that I would’t do that!
I am so glad that I found Dr. Frankel; he was not only a wonderful physician but an outstanding human being who will be missed enormously.

To the family of Dr. Frankel:
I worked with Dr. Frankel on the GTEF Podiatric Conference in New Orleans Oct 12-19.
It was our first time to have him at this fundraising meeting for the Houston podiatric residency programs under Dr. Sam Mendicino ( a classmate of Neal’s) .
He was one of the best speakers at our meeting and we had spoke to him about many other ideas to have him come and speak and educate in Texas. It was obvious he did this because he loved it and to educate people. We could not believe when we heard the news and just wanted his family to know that we appreciated his support of this last conference and are so sorry we will not get to know him more.

I’ve only know Dr. Frankel for a few months but feel like I’ve known him for years. I would like to say how truly grateful I am to have been his patient. He took my disfigured feet and made me feel whole again. When I bent one of the pins in my foot I was so worried about the outcome. His kindness and compassion a few weeks ago when removing it helped me to truly know what a great person he was. Thank you Dr. Frankel for your unconditional commitment to all of your patients. May your family have the comfort in knowing how much we all truly appreciate everything you have done to help us with our feet. May you rest in peace.

I injured my foot back in August and was referred to Dr. Frankel by someone who goes to the same hair salon. I didn’t know what to expect, but was hopeful for a full recovery without surgery. Dr. Frankel immediately set my mind at ease within 10 mins. He was so delicate and kind in his approach. He was very attentive, making sure I understood everything that was to come. Although I knew of him for only 2 months, word of his death took my breath away. My prayers are with his family. RIP Dr. Frankel

After suffering from a horrific surgery from another podiatrist, Dr. Frankel gained my trust. That smile and confidence he displayed successfully did my other foot. The day after surgery, my bandages got wet and he came into the center to see me and change my bandages on his way to the airport for vacation. One year later, he saw me back in the center laying on a gurney waiting for another doctor and a procedure. He smiled, recognized me and took time out to speak to me and encourage me. Thank you Dr. Frankel for your angelic touch. I know you are comforting spirits and fitting them with your hugs…welcoming them to a place of happiness. It’s a tremendous loss for us but such a huge gain for heaven. My prayers are with your family. Your patient….Suzy

Dr. Frankel has been my doctor for the last 2-3 months and in that short of time that i’ve known him my heart breaks to hear he passed. I did my research online for months before choosing a dr to do my surgery something just told me he was the one. I live 2 hours away and it has been worth the drive every week because he has been absolutely great. I just seen him on Monday. He has been AMAZING and I’m thankful to have known him and had him do my two surgerys. I still cant believe when I go back to the office he wont be there. My deepest prayers go out to him and his family and all his co-workers and patients. I cant imagine all the lives that he’s touched. God Bless him.

Dr. Frankel has been my Dr. for several years, when I first met him, I was so impressed
with his mannerism and bed side manners, upon arriving for my appointments he would greet you with that charming smile and welcome you in and tell you he would be right with you which he did, he was so down to the point when explaining what he was going
to do, I just recently had surgery on October 17, 2014, I was his first case, he was running
late, upon his arrival he came in straight to the prep area of the hospital and apologized for running behind schedule and he still had that pleasant smile on his face, before I knew it Dr. Frankel was ready for me and insured me that everything was going to be fine. I am truly going to miss him, of course I am still recuperating at home, I know Dr. will be smiling all the way to the doors of heaven, My Prayers and thoughts are with his family, May You rest in peace Dr. Frankel…..Your Patient Fayedria Gray

I am a new nurse at oakbrook surgical center. Poor Dr Frankel was subjected to me numerous times in the last 2 months. He was gracious, and kind to me. I had the honor of being his circulating nurse for his last case on this earth. I am confident he will be making beautiful feet in heaven. He and I had a special bond….I can’t take pictures to save my life…he kept trying to teach me how to use his camera…but rather than making me struggle or feel stupid…he just asked for another glove and took the picture himself. Even though our relationship was a short one…I knew that I had earned his trust and respect as a nurse and that meant a lot to me. My last words to him were….Thanks Dr. Great case….see you Friday…hope you feel better…and when do I get a ride in that car. My heart is broken for your tremendous loss.
