Harvey was my camp counselor at Bnai Zion Day camp in the 1960’s. I have many very happy memories of Harvey Gold. He was an amazing person.

I remember Harvey coming into the store where I worked always a smile on his face and always with Rabbi Mussman. It was always a pleasure seeing him. May his family not know from any more sorrow

Despite over 45 years passing, I still fondly recall Harvey’s involvement in Bnai Zion Day Camp. His engagament and enthusiasm for Judiasm were contagious and left a lasting impression on this camper that remains to this day. I still fondly recall bits and pieces of all the crazy camp songs he taught and can still picture him belting them out loud and proud.
To his family, thank you for sharing him with so many. He was truly one of a kind. Be proud that he made a difference in the lives of people like me that you will never know.
May his memory be for a blessing.

I met Harvey when I was 7 years old at B’nai Zion. He was a mentor and friend through Junior Congregation to USY and beyond. Our family also supported Harvey and he spent many hours at our home discussing his goals in life. He had a engaging smile and warmth that is truly unique. All who came into contact with Harvey felt comfortable and knew that he was a person of trust who had a great gift of listening.
His lifelong devotion to Conservative Judaism was steeped in the foundation and guidance that he received from the B’nai Zion family. This carried forward in his life’s endeavor to provide a safe, Judaica environment for scores of youth and then to his congregational family at Beth Shalom when he humbly accepted the Executive Director position. He watch the congregation grow around him and him imprint was on the welcoming environment provided by the physical edifice but amplified by the clergy, educational and administrative staff, as well as each congregant. He personally welcomed people at the door and stood in the back of the sanctuary to make sure that the “guests” would comport themselves properly during worship services. He channeled Mr. Cohen, Principal at B’nai Zion, but without the stern admonishment of words. A simply snap of the fingers was his hallmark and achieved immediate results. He leined for Junior Congregation and his distinct voice could resonate across the entire sanctuary; all knew when Harvey was present and the room took on a light with his presence. He was a kid at heart, enjoying jokes and trading stories. His voice is now silent, he has now earned a restful piece. Zacher Tzadik L’vracha…may his memory be for a blessing and his legacy now carried forward by all he touched. Shalom Chaver.
