Irwin was a good friend to big band jazz, and every band that I played in. We have missed him visiting us at the Monday night band, and catching all the bands at Fitzgerald’s. Not only was he a fan, but he was very generous, contributing new music to the RC Big Band’s library, purely out of the kindness of his heart.
Irwin, the chair will always be there for you. Go with God my friend.

This is a great loss. Great Friend. Talked a lot about Basketball and Baseball.
He knew more about Basketball at De Paul then the coaches did.
I will miss talking to him about sports.
I will miss the wonderful jokes that he e-mailed out.

Irwin and I shared a love of books, so at the Monday night rehearsals we would talk about music and books. He gave me several Michael Connelly books and a cd that he enjoyed.I will miss the conversations that we had.Sincerely,Al Miller
