Obituary

Philip H. Schwartz, age 73, loving father of Bernard (Jennifer); proud and doting grandfather “Poppy” to his granddaughters Elliot and Clara Schwartz; brother of Eleanor (Terry) Kendall; cherished uncle of Sara Schwartz Kendall and Katherine Kendall (David Akeson). Phil was a truly devoted friend to many. He was a highly respected teacher who enjoyed nothing more than a spirited and intellectual debate and was always passionate about social justice and education. Phil will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched. Memorial service Thursday 2:30 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. I remember very fondly my long walks and talks, my many meals and laughs with Phil. I retraced today one of the paths that we frequented together. I will always cherish my memories of Phil, an energetic and warm friend. My thoughts are with Phil’s family and friends as you say goodbye to a wonderful man.
