Maurice Allen Schwartz, 87, beloved husband of Muriel nee Hefter for 64 years; loving father of Julie Schwartz, Benjamin Schwartz (Cheryl Keshner) and Ruth (Louis) Kraus; devoted Saba and Grandpa Maurice of Joey Abrams (Lauren Piel), Rachel Schwartz (Jeremy Hurwitz), Ilana Schwartz (Phillip Tyler), Liora Schwartz, Avi Baranes (fiancee Laura Venzke), Natalie Baranes, Ethan Kraus and Noah Kraus; cherished great grandfather of Isla Abrams; many loving nieces and nephews. Chapel service, Tuesday, 12:15 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. It was my privilege and honor to have been Dr. Maurice Schwartz’s colleague at Mount Sinai Hospital for almost 20 years, 1975-1994. He was a role model par excellence not only because of his extensive medical knowledge, but also because of his compassion and concern for all patients with whom he came into contact in his roles as endocrinologist and chairman of medicine. He was a warm person with a great sense of humor, also. I know he will be greatly missed by his wife, children, and extended family. May his memory be a blessing.
