I just drove by your old house on Miller road and was thinking about you. I have a fond memory of the time you let me ride your horse Rocky in the little show, we had. Though I’d never ridden him before, I came in second. I still have the ribbon. That had to be more than forty years ago.

Our condolences to Brian and Jack. Garrett and I are so very sorry for your loss. Bonnie had such a positive impact on our lives and we will miss her so much. She was one of the most giving, thoughtful, and kindest souls I have ever known. We spoke almost everyday and Garrett and I loved her so much. She always knew the right thing to say to help build people up and would help anyone in anyway she could, a giver not a taker. A rare gem who was truly one of a kind. Garrett and I were so fortunate to be part of her life.

We shared many good times and some bad, over 39 years of friendship. ‘The Bon’ had chocolate Labradors and mine were yellow. I had just bought a horse, in 1980, and met her through a mutual friend. Her favorite memory was the two of us on horseback riding down Clover Hill, arguing at the top of our voices – and couldn’t remember what it was about. So many memories – she got me started with bible study, which she did for I think 11 some years. I’ll always be grateful for that. She was always generous to everybody, always giving and doing for people. Taking care of their animals, cooking for them, doing research, babysitting – she took care of Garrett from tiny babyhood and loved him dearly. We were hard core winter horse people, bundled to the eyebrows but determined to ride. She just was a very special person. We had long talks while doing puzzles and watching tv “Look, you’re going to miss the best part!” A good cook, she was forever feeding me. In later years I’d come over, bring my Food Saver, and we’d cook up batches of pot roast, beef stew, stroganoff, and freeze them. She had gourmet taste. Many stories, involving Merrilegs, a miniature horse, and her shenanigans with the big horses. Bon will always have a special place in my heart. We went through a lot together, and I’m so glad to know that she is finally out of the constant pain she suffered. She was a fighter, always came back somehow – but this last battle was too much for her poor body. Rest in Peace dear friend, thanks for all of the memories, and we will meet again one day.
