Obituary

Brian H. Krasner, age 68, much loved brother of Lenore (Ernesto Samarinta) Krasner and Roberta Krasner. Brian worked as a senior software engineer for many years in design and development, most recently for RadiantBlue Technologies in Virginia. Before that, he worked for Raytheon and at Georgetown University Hospital where he designed and implemented software for a sonography system used to classify breast lesions. He also worked on a medical imaging network for ATandT Bell Labs and ran physiology experiments at Harvard Medical School. Brian earned his PhD in Physiology in 1977 from the University of Washington in Seattle and a masters degree in computer science in 1984 from the University of Illinois. Brian was still working part time at the time of his passing. Graveside service, Monday July 1, 10:00 AM at Shalom Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Humane Society of Fairfax County or Project Perry or Rescue Me. For information 847-255-3520.

Hi Lenore and Roberta, I’m sorry for your loss, and sorry we found out so late. My grandfather was Burt Skirble, your mom’s sister. I don’t think we’ve ever met, but I met Brian when I was young, and I’ll always remember he generously sent me a Nintendo 64 for my Bar Mitzvah, quite an expensive gift for a cousin he only met once! Brian was our neighbor for 18-20 years until he moved to West Virginia. We just learned of his passing on 8/19/2019, and are still coming to terms with the fact that we’ll no longer be able to visit with one of the most gentle souls we have ever known. Outside of immediate family, he was the only person we ever trusted to look after our animals (on those rare occasions when we were forced to leave them alone). We’ve missed him ever since he moved away last fall – and now that we know he’s gone, we miss him even more. Our animals were always excited when he stopped in for a visit because they knew he would spoil them with more treats than we ever allowed them to have at any one time. Today is a special day for us because we just got another (rescue) puppy, but we’re saddened by the fact that our new puppy will never get to meet one of the best men we’ve ever had the privilege to know. God Bless You Brian. You’ll always hold a special place in all our hearts.
