Luz Rivera

Luz Iraida (Lucy) Rivera, 76, beloved Esposa of the late Victor Manuel (Neco) Rivera; loving Madre of Wilfredo (Elga) and Jose Antonio (Judy) Rivera, Awilda (the late Joseph) Prignano, Victor M. and Denise (fiancé Vince Pecora) Rivera; cherished Abuela of Willmarie (Samuel), Willie (Diane), Joan, Josean, Jessica (David), Lila (Arnaldo), Nicholas, Lucas; doting Bis-Abuela of Xavier, Jaden, Giana, Julliana, Josean Jr, Santiago, Rafael and Kaia; treasured Titi to numerous nieces and nephews and a much loved Madrina. Lucy and Neco owned and managed La Borinquena, a bodega located in the Humboldt Park neighborhood’s Paseo Boricua. Lucy was also an active member of the Palatine Senior Center for many years. Lucy will be fondly remembered by everyone for her amazing cooking skills, her fun loving spirit and her contagious laugh. Services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lucy may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association (www.lbda.org). The LBDA is an organization committed to advocating for, educating and supporting those affected by Lewy Body Dementia (LBD).
