Barbara Larks Tucker, nee Kushner, 85, beloved wife of Mannie for 25 wonderful years and the late Marshall Larks; loving mother of David (Betty) Larks, Michael (Sheri) Larks, the late Wendy Larks and stepmother of Doug Tucker, Bradley Tucker, Michael (Sharon) Tucker and Lynn Tucker; cherished grandmother of Matthew, Hannah, Zachary and step-grandmother of Katy, Callie, Casandra, Matthew and Chad; devoted daughter of the late Ann and William Kushner; dear sister of the late Ethel (the late David) Hillman and the late Jacob (the late Fay) Kushner; treasured aunt of Fran Hill and Brian Kushner; adored cousin and friend of many. Private graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Wendy Larks Foundation, 17958 Los Angeles Avenue, Homewood, Illinois 60430.

I’ve known Barbara since Wendy and our Debbie were pre-schoolers. We took turns “babysitting” for them so that Barb and I could substitute teach in Chicago. Our families were friends for a long time. She will be missed!

Barbara was a wonderful, sweet, loving woman. She adores her family, from next of kin to cousins far and wide. My first memory of her was when she and Marshall brought the family out to California; they visited my grandparents’ home in Santa Monica when Mike and Wendy were small enough to share her lap. How proud she was when Mike and Sheri got married, and how gracious to host cousin Melvin Larks and myself for the wedding! It was a very special honor when Barbara and Manny, visiting California in 2006, drive down to San Diego to see me and meet my son, Wesley. I will treasure these lovely memories, always. Shalom.
