I had the pleasure of mailing thousands of packages all over the world throughout my 35 year postal career for Steve Eaton. I learned so much about different countries, their customs, culture, religions, and history to current events. Nothing was off limits because we became friends and I looked up to him I guess like a big brother. We laughed and joked and when he wasn’t feeling well I’d fuss at him. I will miss him, but I will see him again in the eternal life. I send my condolences to his family whom he loved and spoke of often. I bid you Shalom.

I remember Steve as the loving generous husband of my closest friend Sharon.
Sharon often remarked how all she had to say was that she liked something and it was hers.
Jim remembers going with Steve to a Bears game one December on what may have been the coldest day of the year.
In recent years, if ever I had question about something Steve knew about, he was always generous with information and help.
Our love and condolences to his family.

He was a very kind man ,we always knew when Steven enter threw the doors of mount prospect post office, he would go right to the counter to get the date stamper and he made sure that all of his stamps was cancel before he reaches the counter, this was a routine for him.

I have dived for years with Steve at the Shedd Aquarium.
Steve, Dave, Mitch and I were the tuesday team in the Wild Reef exhibit. We shared a lot of laughs topside and hours of scrubbing corals and feeding fishes underwater.
We will miss him very much.

Steve and I both where divers at Shedd Aquarium. I was an assistant dive instructor working with Steve. I went to HS with Sharon many years ago and Steve and I were long time members of BJBE. Lots of memories of the Eaton family.

My family had the pleasure of knowing Steve for years.
My deceased husband was his friend and fellow stamp junkie. I presently have 5 lg.boxes full of stamps, marked “ take to Steve E’s”.
My grandchildren met Steve at the Shedd Aquarium and he made their day so special. Mr.Gruff showed his soft side.
My son took scuba diving classes with him, as a child and an adult. Steve was a good teacher. Dinners, arguments, laughter,
and good memories.
AIR MAIL to Heaven Steve!!!Love the Patt family

This is not a story…it is just that my memories of Steve…I remember how he was just a really super good guy. He was always a good friend who was thoughtful and nice. I served with Steve on the board at BJBE with Steve and Honey. Those were great years as I really enjoyed both of them. Simply said, we were blessed to have Steve as a friend and the family was even more blessed to have him as a father and a grandfather.
