Obituary

Harold Pierce, 93, adoring and devoted husband for over 67 years of Barbara, nee Siegel; loving father of Bill (Debbie) Pierce and Debbie (Barry) Jacobs; adored, fun-loving grandfather of Ryan (Lakshmi) Jacobs and Stephanie (David) Luger, Marissa (Andrew) Wernick and Bradley (Amanda) Pierce; cherished great-grandfather of Max, Gabriel and Rafaella Luger, Livia Wernick, and Harlow Pierce; dear brother of the late George (Barbara) Pierce; caring brother-in law of the late Betty Pierce, Jack (Beverly) Siegel, Dee (Marty) Lewis and Penny (Randy) Franklin; fond uncle of Warren (Lori) Pierce and Jeff Pierce and many other nieces and nephews. Harold came to the United States from Poland in 1939 at the age of 12 years old. With great fortitude and an eager and confident spirit, he easily adjusted to his new life. He was a star fullback and punter for the Lane Technical High School football team and later became a proud sergeant in the U.S. Army. Harold created Pierce Interiors, a successful business of 48 years with his loving wife, who was also his favorite travel companion, tennis and biking partner, and true soulmate. In addition to sports, he enjoyed poker, Blackjack, horseracing, and traveling. Above all else, he loved his family, and nothing made Harold happier than being with them and sharing his joy. He made everyone around him feel special, telling jokes and always having fun! We will miss his laugh, his energy and his loving affection. We will forever hold him in our hearts. Interment will be at Shalom Memorial Park. The service and shiva will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or Lurie Children’s Hospital To our loving family and friends, We look forward to a time, in the near future, when we can all be together celebrating Harold’s wonderful life.
