Celene Epstein

Celene was a good friend of my father (Herbert), and I knew her as well and tried to keep in touch after my father died in 2003. I am sorry to learn that she is no longer among us, but I am glad she made it to 98 and I hope the time was happy and healthy.

I knew Celene through my mother,Natalie Bruckman. Both were active with the Jewish War Veterans.When my mother moved to assisted living I continued to gather “the girls” (Celene, Gert, Pearl and Yetta and my mother) together for lunch. They had such a good time. Following my mother’s death in 2011, I continued `the tradition and thoroughly enjoyed their company. Celene knew all my children and my grandchildren by name. I would always share old pictures of mom, Celene and the girls. Their eyes lite up! Family was so important to her. When she’d call me her first words were, “Hi this is Celene, remember me?” My life was certainly enriched through a wonderful and sincere friendship I cherished with Celene. May your family continue to enjoy fond memories of Celene for many years to come.
