The Abraham family is so sorry to hear this sad news. Mike was my dad, Sid’s, best friend for almost 70 years. “It all started on a train leaving Fort Sheridan, Illinois, headed for Fort Lee, Virginia”. Mike goes on to share that he had been playing poker for several hours on the train and he had enough. “When I got up to leave, I turned to a guy who was standing next to me and whispered to him to watch out for the cheater. That was the beginning of a life long friendship. We spent the next few months together at boot camp, where we cemented our relationship. The cement was so hard that I continued the friendship, even though Sid was responsible for my going to Korea, instead of Germany, where the rest of our class went. I wouldn’t have missed that experience for the world!!!”
My parents loved that they retired in Scottsdale and saw each other quite a bit. Oh the stories they shared, were wonderful. Mike meant so very much to my dad, and oh how he LOVED his Thursdays at Chompie’s with Mike, to share more stories about my dad’s relatives.
All of my sisters, Stevie, Carrie and Terri, all had the pleasure of knowing Mike and Elaine and what a wonderful, loving and warm couple. A few times when I visited my parents before my mom passed, I had the pleasure of attending a couple of dinners and programs at the MIM with all four of them. It was so much fun; the back and forth with my dad and Mike was worth watching. Mike was the only person that could truly banter with my dad, understand his sarcasm, and call him on things, which he did quite often. We all will miss Mike dearly, but my dad will miss him the most.
Thank you for allowing each of us the pleasure of spending time with this truly remarkable man. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families during this difficult time.
All our love,
Sid, (Marilyn), Stevie, Carrie, Patti and Terri Abraham

Sending love to all the family. I had the pleasure to meet your dad on a visit to Chicago many years ago. I remember a jovial man. May your memories bring you joy and solace during this time of grieving. My his soul fly swiftly to his next destination.

Too many to mention. Mike and Elaine were special friends from R.H. Donnelley. We shared many delicious dinners, laughs, (of course his special jokes were included), as well as stories of our children. Our thoughts and prayers are with Elaine and the entire family.
