Patricia Katz, nee Austern, 89, beloved wife of the late Irving; loving mother of Michael (Debbie) Katz, Beth (Mitchell) Polonsky and Paul (Janet) Katz; cherished Bube of Stephanie (Anthony) Fick, Gregg Katz (Peter Moore), Marc Katz (Anette Radonski, loving partner), Jenny Ingber, Aaron Polonsky, Ian Katz and Adam Katz; adored Super Bube of Avery and Annie Fick and Lily Ingber; devoted daughter of the late Jennie Austern; dear sister of the late Paul (the late Betty) Austern; treasured aunt, cousin and friend of many. In lieu of flowers, donations in Patricia’s memory may be made to the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center at www.ilholocaustmuseum.org. I only actually met Pat once in person at her granddaughter’s wedding. She was a fun loving person. I listened to all of the stories about her from Beth, and felt I knew her a bit. May she Rest In Peace, knowing her family will remember and carry on with so many of the traditions she taught them.

Many memories of Pat and Irv from 1950s and ’60s, and thankful for Pat’s great friendship with my mom after both became widows. She was a key figure in the Kaminsky side of my family. Pat’s memory is for a blessing.

We’ve known and loved Pat for many years. She was always a smiling, loving person who never failed to make us feel loved and always made sure we knew we were.

We’ll miss her very much, and we’ll always have wonderful memories of her.
