Having known David since I was a freshman in highschool… David loved life and everything it had to offer. Life was taken from him way too soon.

Dave was a terrific person. My wife and I knew him since we were young kids living in Albany Park in Chicago. I got to know Dave much better when we found ourselves playing in a band together as teenagers.
Dave was a great lyricist:
“My heart’s an open book that’s never been read,
Because the words ‘I love you’ were just never said”
Definitely ahead of his time. Dave was always kind, positive and a good friend. I’ll miss his phone calls to wish my wife and I a happy birthday or check in . Always great talking to him about music and concerts. I think he saw Cheap Trick about 50 times. I enjoyed seeing him and his wife at music venues.
Dave was certainly one of the positive people in my life. He will be missed.
Our condolences to Hildy and his family.

Lebo was such a nice and welcoming guy. I was not a part of the “original gang“, but he always made it a point to talk to me and make me feel very welcome at any of the events I attended. It was never about him – it was always about you. So selfless! He was truly a sweet man who will be missed.

Lebo is a most fabulous person! He has a vibrant and caring spirit. This spirit will not die. He will carry his brilliant Light eternally in Heaven. When we look up in the sky at the stars and moon, we will remember David. He will be there watching over us and singing his joyful words of love and happiness. We take comfort in knowing that he is with his other loved ones who have passed. Many friends and relatives have passed before him and welcomed him into the gates of Heaven. David was an excellent communicator. He will continue this in Heaven. He will be gathering groups and helping to create harmony and peace on earth.
We will never forget you Lebo. When we are surrounded by music, we know you will be there. May the light of your brilliant spirit and love shine on forever…
Love eternal, Cindy & Scott

My dear Hildy, My heart goes out to you as I watch this service; know that friends and family are here to hold you up and support you. He was such a joyous man and it was great that we bonded through Russ’s shows and was so enthralled with your husband adding his singing to the fun times. It was a pleasure knowing him! I was so happy to see you both when you stopped into my workplace. Gone way too soon.Love and hugs to all who loved David.

David, or as we have always called him, Lebo, was such a kind and fun person to be around. The Rock and Roll leader of every party, always there to make you smile. Never forgot a birthday, always an actual call to wish you well. Always so kind and sweet to my son Jamie, who will always remember his Uncle Lebo as the tall man with a big voice and and even bigger heart. He will be so missed and no party will ever be the same without him there to sing for us. We love you Lebo and hope that you are with Candi, Leeza, Brian, John and Michael now, singing for them once again.

In the grand scheme of Davids life, I only came to know him in the last 20 years, but what did it matter, he made everyone feel like family. He dressed for every event exceptionally well , but not to draw attention to himself , but to show people that they were worthy of his time to look presentable. Saying goodbye is never easy when it’s a friend and good acquaintance, but Dave was a true gentlemen from top to bottom. He was kind , funny and full of passion for life , full of Love and Devotion for his wife Hildy and will be truly missed by all that knew him. See you on the other side brother singing in Gods band. May I extend my Heartfelt sympathy to Hildy and the Lieberman family in the loss of her husband.

Although I did not know Lebo for a very long time, his kind and gentle soul made an impact on me.
I will always remember him as the bon vivant of the Chicago music scene. His physical presence will be sorely missed, but I know his spirit will be felt whenever and wherever there is music playing.
May his family find comfort in knowing he is at peace.
