Obituary

Elaine Feller (nee Pam), born December 31, 1935 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, resident of Niles, Illinois, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2021 at the age of 85. Daughter of Louis and Jeanette Pam. Loving and devoted wife of Lester (62 years), beloved mother of Marcia and Ross, cherished mother-in-law of Bernard and Kora, beloved aunt of Leslie, Susan, David, Gary and Marcy and adoring grandmother of Barrett, Max, and Misha. A graduate of South Shore High School and National Lewis Teachers College. She was a longstanding elementary school teacher, working mostly in District 63 and adored by her students. She was a good friend to many, a cat lover, avid theater attendee and loved to travel. In lieu of flowers please send contributions to the Jewish United Fund, www.juf.org. Private chapel service. I taught Kindergarten with Elaine. Mrs Feller loved teaching and she loved her students! I remember when she had her first grandchild! Elaine was such a caring person. I greatly appreciated it when she came to my house when my brother passed away. May she Rest In Peace. The world will miss her.

Elaine loved teaching. She loved teaching Kindergarten. I think she loved everything about it. We worked several years together as Kindergarten teachers at first Melzer School and then later at Nelson School. When I was settling in at Nelson, she was such a good team-mate, I couldn’t have asked for anyone kinder more helpful teacher to work with. She loved the students and families. Elaine helped so many students start off with early learning. She will be missed. Mary Valentine
