James A. Hurto, 83, passed away on October 5, 2021. Beloved husband and best friend of the late Corrine; loving father of Darlene (Tim) Hofstra, Michelle (James) Thorpe and the late Andrew (Debra); cherished grandpa “Papa” of Hillary and Aaron Hofstra, Jacob and Sarah Thorpe, and Melissa and Emily Hurto. Graveside service, Friday, October 8, 2021, 12 PM at Shalom Memorial Park 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org/donate) would be greatly appreciated. Dear Darlene and Michelle:

First off, we want to express our sympathy to you and your family on the passing of your Dad. Dorie has kept up informed. I also noticed that you follow Eric on Facebook. Interesting how we have lost touch and you stay somewhat in touch with Eric.

Most important is that we wanted to let you know we were thinking of you at this time. I hope the rest of your family is well.

I would like to hear from you at some time. We are going out of town tomorrow so we will unfortunately not be available at the funeral.
