Zayde always made you feel like you were the most special part of his family, no matter who you were. His spirit has truly been passed down to his family and those who were lucky to call him a friend. We will miss you always Zayde. I love you

While Clara, Max, Alvin and Jeanie were in Chicago, the rest of the Edelstein family was in Montréal. I was 5yo when Alvin and Beatrice were married about 70 years ago. We all came to Chicago for the wedding. I was the flower girl. I adored Alvin. Followed him everywhere. We haven’t been in contact the last few years and I really miss him.

I have a vivid memory of Alvin and Beatrice on their wedding day. I think they were standing on a staircase and I think the party was at the Algonquin Hotel. My mother and my aunt Rachel and my cousin Ruby and I traveled by train from Montreal to attend this special occasion. (3 days and 2 nights). I remember. how handsome he looked and his amazing smile. Beatrice was like a princess, I thought, in her wedding dress. Due to life’s circumstances, I did not stay in touch with him all these years but I am saddened by his death and I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family. May his soul be reunited with his loved ones in Heaven and maybe in that afterlife, we will meet again. May God bless his family.
