Maureen,

I was so shocked and saddened to come upon this news today. Steve was always so lovely to be around and I remember standing in the basement looking at books with him like it was yesterday. We were like the Siskel and Ebert of your endless collection down there and he was so generous in lending them to me. I know that you are surrounded by the love of family and friends but I too, am only a phone call away. May he rest in peace.

My heartfelt condolences to Maureen and the entire Steve family. I had the honor and privilege for several decades to be a client and like so many of his clients , a friend . His technical skills as an accountant , and from time to time sage medical advice, were equaled if not exceeded by the joys of his friendship. There is no one that I would prefer to be with at a basketball game and his interest in who you were as a person was always in evidence. So shocked to hear about Steve. We shared many laughs together at camp, as well as some great nights in Eagle River, as well as a memorable trip to Des Moines in the middle of a blizzard on Interstate 80! Steve also prepared my tax returns from the beginning of his career in 1969/70 until his retirement. We were friends since 1956. I’ll miss him. Please accept my sincere condolences. He was a good man.

My deepest condolences to Maureen and the entire Lewis Family, along with Maureen’s own children Jason and Amanda and their families, as well . While I have known Maureen for many more years , I first had the pleasure of getting to know Steve just prior to his and Maureen’s marriage about 18 years ago after having been involved in their own Wedding plans, which I recall quite well due to the fact that all that he wanted to do was to accommodate Maureen’s dreams and wishes for that special day.

May his memory forever be a blessing.

We have known and cherished our friendship with Steve since 1973. He was always encouraging, sensitive and wise in his counsel. He helped our family maintain a stable financial footing but far beyond that professional aid, Steve offered his warmth, humor, intellect and love in a personal and profound way to two generations of our family. We will forever cherish his person, his friendship and his gracious love. May his memory be eternal.
