Obituary

Rachel Dayan, nee Pinto, of West Rogers Park, formerly of Marrakesh, Morocco. Beloved wife of the late Albert. Cherished mother of Jacques Dayan, Serge Dayan, Marc Dayan, Clement Dayan, Aviva Dayan Malatka (Lee Malatka), Danielle Dayan and Gary Dayan, and beloved grandmother of Jenna Dayan, Marc Dayan Jr, Curtis Bernard, John Bernard, Jacqueline Bernard, and Chloe Dayan. Many loving nieces, nephews, and friends who adored her. Known for her legendary dinners, particularly at holiday times, and for her traditional Moroccan Hennas. Rachel was a captivating storyteller, and engaged and entertained people with her many recollections of her younger years in Morocco, stories that were made all the more entertaining with her signature sense of humor. Rachel was a very loving person, and I had some wonderful dinners at her home, I have known the family for many years and each and every one has been very kind to all of us. Rachel will be missed, and I am so happy that all of her children had so many years with her.

New Rachel since arriving from Maroc,from Sephardic congregation.join with her family &olso sisterhood. Attend bar mitzvah of Gary help in preparing the meal all night ,helping her the meal for Simha Torah .attend Hena of celebration of some of her children .Remember when found out the ladies of sisterhood going in nursing home visiting Mrs Farida Sassouness, she wanted to join us .so she took apon herself to visit her often bringing her food,cologne talk to her &smile singing to her.before moving with her daughter in California.I use to visit her every Shabbat. Like to talk obout her life growing up the love of her beloved husband Albert a”h” I new him. The love of her children & proud of grandchildren Very nice family. May her Neshama rest in Gan Eden &pray for all her loved ones.Amen!!!!
