Dear Gerry,
Just wanted to send you my most heartfelt condolences.
Though I did not see you and Richard often, you both have a very special place in my heart.
Whenever referring to you both, I as well would call you cousin Richard and Gerry even though we are not related!
Be safe!
Love, Shaindi

There are so many memories of Richard. My cousins’ wedding had a profound effect on me.
It was the most awesome experience a 12 yr old could ever imagine! Both Richard and Gerry were a major influence in my teen years – they went to Purdue, I had to go to Purdue! Gerry – your wedding at a young age influenced my marriage at a young age (20). So easy to figure out how many years we’ve been married!!
Today at the funeral, I could not help but remember around 7 years ago, joining Richard and Gerry to visit our sweet Grandma Ruth’s grave site on the southwest side of Chicago. What a touching somber moment. Right after the visit, there on cemetery property, Richard was giving me advice for my bad back – we were doing exercises together on the property near Grandma! She probably had a chuckle and a whistle.
Just want to say how wonderful it was to listen to Eric, Zachary, Debbie and Susan with Stephen’s words. Cousin Richard you are a lucky man to have had all the love from your family! You’ll be missed but remembered forever.

Richard’s quiet friendly presence will be sorely missed. He would always have time to say hello and tell you how proud he was of his family, Gerry, his children and grandchildren, or just to talk and ask you how things were going.
So Sorry for all of your family. He was a unique, kind, and loving man who will always be remembered.

Dear Gerry, children and grandchildren,
We met Gerry and Dick 5 years ago poolside at The Moorings. We became instant friends for life! How could you not? What a beautiful, fabulous and friendly couple. Your dad was handsome, witty and above all devoted beyond words to his family. We will miss him but are so grateful to have known him. He lives in all of you. May his passing be for a blessing. ✡️

Here’s a picture of my Dad doing one of the things he loved best: grilling outdoors (salmon, burgers or chicken – all done to perfection) on a beautiful day for his family.
To my parents’ friends and our family: Thank you so very much for your love and friendship with my parents, and for your kind words of love and support for our Mom, Gerry, and for me, Deborah and Stephen, and our spouses and families, including my parents’ beloved grandchildren.
We appreciate it so very much.

Condolences to Mrs. Freibrun (Gerry), Eric, Deborah, Stephen, and family. I recall vividly Dick, Gerry, and family moving in nextdoor to us on Maple Street way, way back in 1963. Dick was always quick with a smile and kind word, with just the right amount of edge ingrained in seemingly everyone from Brooklyn. But I knew as a kid nextdoor, the knowledge deeping over the years, that the head of the Morton Grove Freibrun family was a great man, a great guy. So I know he was a great husband, father, and grandfather too. His memory WILL be for a blessing — no “may” about it. Edna and I send our deepest condolences.
