Having met and shared a concurrent career with Ray since the late ‘50s I became aware of Ray’s affection and dedication to his family and faith, first to his mother and brother, and then to Sandra and their children and grandchildren. Ray’s humor was present throughout our years of recurring private lunches and characterized by his comment after moving to Florida, when he replied, “You know I hate golf! Now I’m playing twice a week!” Dr. Allen as he frequently referred to himself, in our last telephone conversation made it very clear, he had experienced a full and joyful life and sadly he was making an informed decision for his future. My condolences. May he Rest In Peace.
