Dear Lilo,
1966, Solvang, the quaint Danish village in the heart of CA.
You & Al, Vern & I spent a beautiful CA day wandering in and out of shops, tasting cheeses, drinking CA wines, sampling Danish cuisine and baked goods and enjoying each others company. We were young , carefree, and very happy……..it was the beginning of us cementing life long relationships with our spouses. It was a magical time.
I have the photos that mark that day; my limited skills prevented me from downloading them
but I will mail them.
We are so saddened by Al’s passing and we send our heartfelt condolences.
Hugs Rochelle & Vern

Lilo,
So sorry to hear about Al’s death. My mom told us of his death yesterday when she called. I remember meeting with both of you when I would visit with my dad at work or when you would get together with them socially. Our wishes are with you at this time of loss.

Dear Lilo,
We will always picture the four of us, you & Al, me & Vern, that beautiful day in Solvang.
We were all relatively young, smiling, laughing and so happy …….we were just discovering each other; our relationships were budding. It was the beginning. It was a magical day and time.
We regret that distance separated us and prevented us from spending more time together.
The few times we were able to meet; it was always fun and enjoyable.
Across the miles we send our heartfelt condolences.
Hugs

Dearest Lilo,
We are heartbroken by the passing of your beloved Al. We were captivated by his humor, optimism and funny jokes from the first day we met you both at the pool. We used to laugh that Frank and Al had so much in common, that they were the same person! It was as if we had always known the both of you. The two of you introduced us to some of the finest dining down here in Florida, and we cherish the memory of all those fun dinners together. Even the pandemic couldn’t stop us from getting together for our weekly Facetime cocktail hours. Al was one of a kind and we miss him terribly. I like to think Al is telling his jokes up in heaven keeping all the angels in stiches. Frank and I are sending you our love at this difficult time, and Keeping you in our hearts.

Lilo:
My deepest sympathies go out to you at the loss of your husband and best friend, Al.
I didn’t know him all that well, but I know you spent much of your time and were always together, even I can remember way back when I ran into you both at the Unemployment Office when we all were laid off from United Learning and trying to get some money. Needless to say even at the Unemployment office he was his usual self cracking or telling jokes. It was a constant with him and that’s how I remember him.
Both you and Al shared a wonderful life and family together so my prayers do go out to all of you at this sad time.
Take care. Always, Carol 🙁

We are so sorry to hear of Al’s death. It was a pleasure to have him as a friend. He was a true gentleman in every way. We enjoyed the many dinners we had together, especially our first Seder. He made us feel very welcomed.
We will miss his many jokes.
