David told me many times about how much he loved his little brother. When they were little, they shared a room. Barry had to wear braces because of that famous Siegel leg tortion. The brace consisted of heavy orthopedic shoes with a bar between that held his feet apart and the shoes in position. Barry didn’t like having to sleep in that contraption and David felt sorry for him so every night, after lights out, David would slip over and untie Barry’s shoes to remove the braces.
I remember Barry as a fun, warm, caring husband, father, and brother. He was a great provider and a wonderful salesman, no doubt inherited from Sid, his father. He sold us quality jewelry. 🙂 It was fun to visit him at the shop in downtown Chicago with the old fashioned elevator you practically operated yourself. It was my first experience at a jeweler with a locked entry. He taught me appreciation of fine jewelry.
God be with you, Caryn, Dana, Kevin, and Freddy.
May his memory always be a blessing.
