Today, out of the blue, I thought Eddy. He was one of my most memorable friends at WIU. He was brilliant. I believe he might have been a veteran. I am as well. No matter, his humor, infectious laugh always brought joy to me. Years later living in Washington state, I met someone from Chicago. I said that you come from the same neighborhood as Eddy Baldinger. In shock, he acknowledged that he knew Ed. That was 25 years ago.
Now I learn of Eddie’s passing. I am sad, but want you to know that he was a special friend, and much loved!!
Best wishes to his family and friends, Wddie was very special.

So sorry to hear of Ed’s passing. Our sincere condolences to all his family! We met Ed during our college years at WIU in Macomb, IL and he was a great friend. He was friendly, always smiling and very positive. At one point in time I was struggling with a math class and Ed told me not to worry about it as he would help me. He was able to help me understand the class and I ended up getting an A…all because Ed decided to help me. He was a great friend and was also part of our Wedding. We will miss hearing his voice and his logical thinking. RIP my friend!

When we moved to Des Plaines in 1984 Ed and Gail were our neighbors. They soon became lifelong friends. Ed was beloved by all our family for his kindness, his humor and his humanity. I treasured all the jokes he sent me by email, the coffee he shared with me and his smiling presence anytime we visited Chicago. He will be greatly missed.

Ed was one of my oldest friends and co-workers, when we both worked at the US EPA – Office of Inspector General. He was my first manager when I was hired permanently at EPA. We traveled together all over the US performing a big audit on the exportation of hazardous waste. Our favorite stop was Laredo, TX, where we ate the best guacamole at this beautiful, historic hotel.
Ed and I had birthdays that were very close, so we always considered ourselves to be “birthday buddies”! And like a Leo, Ed had a huge heart, big personality and nothing would stop him from helping those who needed him. I have so many stories, I can’t put them all down here. My whole family knew Ed and thought he was the best!
Our prayers are with you all. We will miss Ed every day.

So sorry to hear of Ed’s passing. I worked with Ed for several years at the EPA/OIG. He was always a happy and upbeat person. He loved his family. Good to be around him. I remember on 9/11 how concerned he was for me flying from Boston to NY that morning. When I showed up at the hotel later that afternoon, he gave me a big hug and said how happy he was to see me safe. I always remember that. I know he will be missed by many.

I remember Edward fondly. As another grandparent to Cassidy Goodman. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He always shared great advice with me thru his kindness. I will miss him dearly.

No one loved family more than Ed. He sincerely cared about everyone. He traveled from Illinois to New Jersey many times to stay close to his relatives.Despite everything Ed went through in the final months of his life his concern for all his family was upmost in his mind. We will miss our conversations not to mention how he kept us all together.

Ed was a great guy. He always had great stories. Physically, he was as strong as an ox. He had a sharp mind, and was known for speaking truthfully, and plainly. I will miss him.
