Gerald “Gerry” Goldblatt, age 85, beloved husband of Lonnie Goldblatt, happily married for 43 years; loving father of David and Steven Goldblatt, much loved step-father of Cari (Tim) Driscoll and Dr. Noel (Julie) Zweig; proud Papa Gerry of Dylan Daniel, Jacob Tyler and Nicole, dear uncle of many nieces and nephews; and adored by Max the dog. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Avenues To Independence, www.avenuestoindependence.org. Services are private. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Gerry, you were a great friend and neighbor for 15 years and I’m so sad that I didn’t get a chance to say good bye. Thank you for always being kind, caring and supportive to me, and my parents. We had many good times as neighbors, enjoying the city’s restaurants and concerts. My favorite memory of Gerry was when he did the Polar Bear Plunge in February 2009 at the age of 73, going into freezing cold Lake Michigan with just his bathing suit. He was a special guy. Miss you and love you always Gerry.
