Dear Marcia,
I didn’t personally know your husband and greeted him just a few times at services when he was with you. Just hearing that he went to Carleton, where Mia will start this fall, tells me something of the kind of person he must have been. Knowing you also tells me something about Jim. He picked a wonderful caring and smart woman with a pleasant warm smile to be his life’s partner.
To Marcia and your family, my thoughts are with you and may Jim’s memory be a blessing.

I have worked at Park Center Health and Fitness for 20 years and saw Jim 3 days a week for years, he trained with Drew Surinsky and enjoyed chatting with everyone at the facility each time he came in to exercise. Jim’s spirit and determination will be remembered by all.
You will be missed!
Peace and love to Jim’s family and care givers.

I met Jim when we both worked as attorneys for the Illinois Secretary of State in the late 1980s. He always made me laugh and we had a great time when Jim and his wife Marcia and our friends Peter and Tom all went out to dinner. He loved to eat at lesser known Chicago restaurants, especially those with ethnic cuisines. I miss him already.

So sorry to learn of the passing of this fine man. May Marcia, their children, and the entire family find comfort in their memories of his personality and good deeds. Tanchumin min ha-shamayim. May you be comforted with all the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

I was not fortunate enough to know Jim personally but I knew of him from Marcia.

I have very fond memories of my talks with Jim when we both worked at the Cook County States Attorneys office. Our discussions of loving being fathers while we were going after men who wouldn’t support their children still ring in my mind. They are special memories of my time there.
May Jim’s soul be remembered for a blessing.
