Obituary
Robert enjoyed many different jobs throughout his life, working for Pint Size Jrs. in the Chicagoland area for several years, opening his own shop in the Hamilton Hotel and especially when working with high school students in a special education program. He also volunteered many hours with Al Anon as a sponsor as well as leading groups. He was proud of his children and loved his family and friends. A big part of his life was socializing with a variety of people everywhere he went.
Hi motto for every day was “Thank you God”!

Hello, to the Rubin family. My name is Jack Vitacco, and I have known Bob since 1989, through Al Anon. My wife and I moved to Oregon in 2005 but kept in touch with Bob and would visit him when we traveled back to Chicago to see family. We were sad to hear of Bob’s passing, though we knew it was imminent. Sandy has kept us posted this last year. Throughout the years Bob has been a tremendous friend and mentor. He helped me through a lot of difficult times and then celebrated with me when I got through it. I cannot tell you how much his friendship meant to me and he will be missed. Fortunately, I will have good memories and many smiles when I think of Bob.

Hearing Rhonda speak of her father Robert over the years, I have a picture of a man blessed to have lived a long life filled multi-faceted experiences and contributions to our country as a whole and to those in his close circle of loving family and devoted friends. May his memory be a blessing.
