Edward F Koehler

Edward F. Koehler, of Northbrook, formerly of Crystal Lake and Morton Grove, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at the age of 98. He was born September 2, 1923, in Chicago, the son of Fred and Teresa Koehler.

Ed was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirlee. They were married for over 70 beautiful years. He was also preceded in death by his sisters Lorraine Gunderson and Betty Kasdorf.

Ed is survived by his children Larry (Mindy) and Judy (John) Maly; his cherished grandchildren Andrea (Brett) Hogan, Michael (Molly) Koehler, Andrew (Sierra) Maly, Austin (Jordan) Maly, and Luke (Katelyn) Maly; his beloved great-grandchildren, Fletcher, Spencer, Wesley, Riggins, Cade, Jackson, Goldie, Cooper, Henry and Meritt. He is also survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carol and Don Schaffrath.

Ed was a proud World War II veteran. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing cards with friends and family. He especially loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be private.
