Many experiences of the converted school bus, unloading into the house as Corky the poodle barked at nothing. Marty winning the entire Beatles catalog from some station. The best smile always. Never liked people arguing or fighting; a mensch always.

I worked with Marty on the CBOE for 20 years and took the train with him many afternoons. He was a kind and generous man with a big smile on his face. He will be missed by many.

I watched the service virtually, and want to send my condolences to the Brand family. I have known Marty since Roger’s school and through Sullivan. He was a good guy, that always had a smile on his face, which I was lucky to see recently, ay our two reunions.

I have known Marty over 15 years. I first met him at bowling. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tell me about the restaurants he and Fran went to, and about the food. I enjoyed talking to him about work and family. He will be missed.

Marty also known as Moe.
We had many adventures together. Bowling/poker/golf. Especially memorable. You losing control of a golf cart on a wet cart path. Spinning out of control ending up between three trees off the side of the path. Missed all three. Survived the adventure without injury. A bit of a scary adventure. All good times with you. Loved you like a brother. Will truly miss you. Thank you for being my friend!

My condolences to Fran, Harry, and the entire Brand family. Even though I haven’t seen Marty since our softball days in the ‘70s and ‘80’s I will always remember him as a fun, good hearted person.

I have known Marty and Harry since High School in West Rogers Park, I have such fun memories of the band practicing and going to see them play in the neighborhood…. working next to Marty on the CBOE….so many great memories… running into him many times in our area, including last year at dinner randomly. Marty was one in a Million and will be missed! A true gift. My condolences to the Brand family and all who loved him.
Love,
Janice

There are too many memories of Marty, as we bowled, golf and played cards together, but I will always remember when bowling and calling out Moe, your help, as he was busy selling Pot of Gold tickets. We should rename it to “Pot of Marty”. He will be missed by all.

WE first met Marty when Heather and Lindsey became friends in Kindergarten. They quickly joined our temple and Marty and Jeff became car pool drivers to Sunday school. I have so many memories of Marty. He loved the Beatles and the girls listened to Breakfast with the Beatles on the way to and from Sunday School. He loved YES, and Jeff and he exchanged many song memories. But one of the best memories I have was when Marty and Fran doubled with Jeff and me. We went to a movie and dinner and when we came out of the movie, Marty’s car had been hit. I remember he was so annoyed (probably the only time I ever saw Marty angry) because it was a hit and run. I also remember Marty attending my father in law’s Shiva at our house and running into someone he went to high school with. Small world. Marty was a special, wonderful, loving, and kind person to everyone with whom he came in contact. He will be greatly missed. We are sending our love and strength to Heather and Fran. May his memory always be for a blessing.

I have fond memories of Marty as a kid, he was 10 years older than I. My memory was that he was always so kind and took an interest in us despite our age difference. In summary, Marty was so kind, I am saddened to hear of his passing! RIP until we all meet again 💔

I first met Marty when he was coaching baseball at the JCC in Rogers Park in the 70’s when I was 13-14 years old. It was some 45-plus years later we ended up bowling together in the same Bnai Brith bowling league for several years. Marty was one of the nicest – kindest people i’ve ever known. Always a smile – always how you doing? My older sister Janice knew Marty and Harry back in the day and Marty would always ask how’s Janice doing? I know Marty loved music – bowling and golf. Unfortunately, i never had the chance to golf with marty but I’m sure we would have had a wonderful time. RIP in friend.
