I fondly remember Mort’s involvement as a member of the GEL Writing Group. His contributions were varied and conversation provoking. After he relocated an occasional telephone call from the west coast to catch up was always enjoyable.

Lynn and I send our deepest condolences on the death of my cousin to Ileane and the entire family.

Mort. Ileane, his parents and sister were staples at family celebrations and parties growing up on the South Side. I can still hear the tonal quality of his voice as he would offer opinion, advice and his original sense of unique humor. Mort and I actually grew closer in our latter years thru communication and he was of immense help in giving me family trees information and getting together for lunch. I grew to know him in a way I never did in my earlier years.
