Robert L. “Bob” Winholtz, 85, of Island Lake, passed away peacefully on September 30, at JourneyCare in Barrington. Bob was a devoted husband to Carol Jo (Strongman), his high school sweetheart, for 67 years. He was a loving and supportive father to Lori (Scott) Garrison, Jeffrey (Mary) Winholtz, and Jeri Newlin. A very proud “Pa” to Zachary (Katie) Garrison, Dakota Schwantes (partner Dailyn Hall), and Molly (Will) Powers. Bob was also a big brother to Jim Winholtz. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert H. and Marie E. (Pryor) Winholtz, and a sister Mary Martha Winholtz. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bob worked for Pitney Bowes for close to 30 years, starting as a salesman and working his way up to a regional vice president. He was an advisor and mentor to many. Bob enjoyed playing golf for numerous years. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan, and a Die Hard Chicago Cubs fan. The Cubs won the 2016 World Series for his 80th birthday! Bob also took great pride in his lawn and his cars. Both were always meticulous.
