Jamie worked at Apache camp in Northbrook when i was directing the EC department. Her love for children was amazing!!! She always had a smile on her face and her laughter was infectious!!! The world lost a wonderful person!! May her memory be a blessing

Jamie greeted me with a smile every time I saw her. She was a huge part of daily life for the almost five years Ella spent at JCYS. She kept a close eye on the friendship Ella and Ryder built at JCYS and saved stories to tell me about them together whenever I saw her. I remember during professional pictures one year, Jamie told me Ella had no interest in being photographed but Ryder held her hand and helped her through it. When someone close to me received a breast cancer diagnosis, I knew I could talk to Jamie about it and I did. Jamie put me at ease and asked the right questions. Her time on Earth has been way too short …. But she left an impact that will remain for generations to come.

I met Jamie in 2011 when she started to date Joe. I was visiting the Lasko’s and promised Cindy I would make J & J a Chicken Parmesan dinner. I came off the plane that weekend in Chicago sick! Turned out I had Pneumonia. It did not matter….I was meeting Jamie for the first time and I was going to make her and Joe dinner! I did with Cindy’s help…it was a wonderful time. Jamie was very sweet and you could tell Joe was smitten by her! I went to her bridal shower! My husband and I also went to the wedding. It was beautiful! I have been following Jamie through her joys, highs and lows and her fight with Cancer since on Facebook! Jamie was a warrior through it all! Upbeat and had no time to feel sorry for herself! She had a life to live and she was living it! Our deepest sympathies to both the Polakoff and Lasko Familes…especially Joe and the kids. Rest well in heaven Jamie.

Sending my deepest condolences to all of you. I have enjoyed reconnecting with Jamie more lately as our sons are the same age and we have overlapped in activities. I am heartbroken that she lost her fight with this terrible disease. She was the strongest fighter and her kids will be so proud of their mom superhero. Sending you all lots of love during this unimaginable time.
