Obituary

Jean Davidson, an Evanston resident, entered Eternal Life on May 26, 2022 at the age of 96. Jean was born on December 31, 1926 in Chicago, IL. She was one of the first woman admitted to Northwestern’s graduate program with a master’s degree in Microbiology. Jean spent years as a librarian for the Evanston township high school. Jean was married to Lester Nathan, M.D. (who passed October, 2003) and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. Jean was giving of herself to her family and to anyone she encountered. She was a devoted member of the Chicago symphony and Art Institute. She enjoyed art, the opera, and the outdoors. Jean is survived by her husband David Davidson, her children Jill Nathan, Michael Nathan, Judith DeCosmo, Peter Nathan; stepdaughters Arlene Davidson, Sandy Mabus, Annette Davidson, 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 6 step-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jewish United Fund at www.juf.org. Graveside service Tuesday 12:30 PM at Shalom Memorial Park, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights.
