Marshall Perlman, 85, beloved husband and best friend of the late Elaine Workman Perlman; loving father of Gary (Beth) Perlman, Steven Perlman, Todd (Hali) Perlman, Deborah (Scott) St John and Laura Perlman; cherished grandfather of Emory Perlman, Caden Perlman, Brooke (Matthew) Schrager, Cory Perlman, Samantha Perlman, Alexander Perlman, Jessica St John and Thomas St John; adored step-father of Bonnie (Stewart) King, James Williams (fiancée Nanci Burk), Sharon (Paul) McGuire, Linda (Guy) McGinnis, Thomas Williams, step-grandfather of Tracy (Phillip) Hirschmann, Krystal Williams, Allison Williams, Michael (Brooke) McGuire, Lindsay (Matt) Sells, Michelle (Doug) Brasky, Mark McGinnis (fiancée Becky Morgan), Mary McGinnis, Kevin Williams, AnnMarie Williams and the late Shawn King and step-great grandfather of Joshua, Milo, Jackson, Emma and James; devoted son of the late Pauline and Henry Perlman; dear brother of Dave (Florence) Perlman and the late Thelma Perlman; former spouse and friend of the late Michele Perlman; treasured friend of many. Marshall was a graduate of the University of Illinois and a longtime electrical engineer. His greatest joy in life was his family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Chapel service Wednesday 2:30 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. I remember often Buying Marshall Bananas but I could never get them just ripe enough.
Working with Marshall on the original Glen Garden Board and the Architectural Committee brings back fond memories. We both loved his sense of humor.

Marshall was a long-time member of our community. He served as a Director of the Glen Garden Estates Homeowners Association Board. He was a knowledgeable leader, a caring friend, and a loving husband and father. He will be missed by our community and by me as a mentor and friend.
