Obituary

Rosalyn Goodman, 99 (née Levine) beloved wife of the late Norman Goodman, happily married for 55 years; her late husband was a disabled, decorated World War II veteran with the U.S. Army Air Corps, having served as a crew member of the B 17 bomber and assigned with the 509th Bomb Group at the end of the war; loving mother of Judge James D. Goodman, Ava (David) Baldwin and the late Blythe Inez Marshfield; cherished grandmother, Bonga/Mimi, to, Sarah Goodman, the late Ashely Anne Goodman, Maj. Loren Cullen Baldwin, USA, and Alexandra Baldwin, and great grandmother of Jeffery Norman Baldwin, preceded in death by her brothers Seymour and Ernest Levine. Rosalyn was a woman of many talents and experiences, After graduating from Austin High School, in Chicago, Illinois, she attended the American Academy of Art, and the Chicago Art Institute of Chicago while working at the Chicago Sentinel. During WWII she was employed as a legal Secretary by the law firm of Irving Mover and Associates. After marriage to her late husband in 1945, she moved to California and then returned to Illinois taking on the occupation as illustrator for a local newspaper called Imprint. She later worked as a sales associate for E.J. Korvette and Avon, before starting her own business as Fair Lady, Inc., a women’s travel service, on Michigan Avenue, in Chicago, which was later bought by the Chicago Health Club in 1962. During the same period, she became the President of the Chicago Southeast Chapter of B’nai Brith Women’s Club, and later served in the Chicago Regional Counsel of the same organization. She worked as a music teacher for the Chicago Southside Nursery School, and for four years, during the middle 1960’s she worked as a practical nurse for Dr. Herbert Paul in South Chicago, Illinois. She was later employed as an Administrative Assistant at Allied Farm Equipment of Chicago. Before leaving the work force, Rosalyn was employed by the predecessor of Tri R-Vending during liquidation of the company. As a conservative woman and patriot, she donated to Paralyzed Veterans of America, Disabled Veterans of America and several other veterans’ organizations. She was not politically active but supported Republican candidates. She supported Israel and Right to Life but rejected almost every other anti-American. progressive organization.
