I have so many fond memories of Rita always being such a funny and loving person. She was the first cousin of my mom Renee Land nee Tuchten, and any time I saw Rita I remember she had a smile on her face.

From the moment my boys and I “the twins” met Rita it was an instant friendship. The jokes we shared, the amazing advice she gave and the love and hugs she gave to my boys are soemthing we will cherish forever. We have been truly blessed to know her, and call her not just neighbor but friend.

My condolences to the Brandt family. Rita was a wonderful mentor to me when I student taught next door in Nancy Minske’s classroom. Those were some wonderful days of my career in CCSD21. It’s been almost twenty years, but I still use the strategies she generously shared with me. I will remember her with a warm smile, kind words and sound advice.
