Met at Simchas, although briefly. A wonderful big brother, and leader of a good family. We are sure he will be well received in heaven. May his memory be for a blessing. Sherri & David Chapman

I was truly sorry to hear of the passing of Mel Gorelik. He was a man who lead a life that could have been made into several movies. It was always entertaining to be in his presence and listed to his tales and interactions with people around Chicago.
My sincerest sympathies to Millie and her family for your loss.

Mel’s friendship and kindness to me and the entire Bickel Family will never be forgotten. While 350,000 people came to Speedway, Indiana each year for the Indy 500, Mel stood out above them all with his generosity and kindness. He was always concerned, not about himself, but that everyone else was doing well. Our hearts and prayers for Mel, Millie, and the entire Gorelik Family continue this day and going forward. God bless Mel!

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of a legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Indy 500 fan and attendee. 65+ years of making it to the Memorial Day race is an impressive run. It is because of fans like Mr. Gorelik that the Indy 500 is the spectacle that it is. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family and we hope that when his family and friends return for the 108th running of the Indy 500 next May – they will be greeted with the many memories and smiles the Mr. Gorelik brought to them when they attended with him.

I’m so sorry to hear about Mel’s passing. His annual visit to Speedway for the Indy 500 was very special to my family. I had the pleasure of joining him for a few races over the last couple of years and it was always a special day. My parents and siblings always enjoyed seeing him and appreciated his friendship and generosity. I will keep your family in my prayers.

Em and Steve,
My favorite memory is seeing the smile on Steve’s face when he talks about his childhood and his parent’s house across from Northwood Jr High. Steve’s face lights up when he talks about his dad, and may the light continue to shine brightly, as you remember your beloved dad. I know your dad will forever live in your hearts. With lots of big hugs and love, Edye and Carl Schwarz

I began my career in the plumbing industry at Shamrock Plumbing Sales back in 1988. Mel Gorelik always treated me very well as an employee and later on as a friend. One thing I will always remember is when Mel introduced you to his friends, they became your friends too. I have many fond memories of watching live sports events with Mel, but especially auto racing. I was a very young man back then and always felt special in his presence.

Mel taught me how to entertain clients by doing what they enjoyed or excelled in, not what I did….I spoke with both he and Stuart a few months ago just to say hi. It was timely and I’m glad I did.
Heartfelt condolemces to Bart and families. We will miss their presence for now, but we will meet again. Sending love to all the Goreliks.

I’m saddened to hear about Mel’s passing. Mel had the best stories!
We would conduct our business and head out to lunch and get some fried shrimp and eat it on the hood of his car.
My condolences to the entire Gorelik family.
