Obituary
His most cherished moments were those spent with his adoring family. He married the love of his life, his best friend and sweetheart with whom he created a home and family that always came first. He loved traveling and taking father-son trips around the world.
An innovator, expert and celebrated attorney with a career spanning more than five decades, he founded Kamensky and Rubinstein which emerged as one of Chicago’s top law firms in the areas of health care and taxation. He took pride in his participation in the prosecution of Chicago crime syndicate boss Rocco Pranno as an IRS Special Agent in the late 1960s where he received a commendation by the U.S. Attorney for excellent performance and outstanding ability. He was a founder, board member, contributor and consultant to many civic and professional organizations and publications including the Children Cares Foundation, the Journal of Medical Economics, the Journal of Taxation, “The Group”, The Young Men’s Jewish Council (now Jewish Council for Youth Services), and the American Bar Association. He took an active role in local politics and the arts. He initially worked on the campaign of Congressman Samuel H. Young in the early 70s and later counted Hon. Young as counsel at Kamensky and Rubinstein. In 1975, he was elected to the School District 31 School Board and served on the Board of Trustees of his local synagogue Congregation Beth Shalom. He took great interest in the arts as a theater producer, and as an art and stamp collector. The family is deeply appreciative of the loving and respectful care provided by John, Presley and Bevin.

As Marvin would say Hellllloooo with a kiss to follow right after, and that kiss could be for Steve or me. I was one of the lucky ones to always observe that special twinkle in his eyes for Judy and and his family. Marvin was unique with his voice always added a little harmony when we least expected it and clearly knew when our chorus was off key.
Steve and I will always feel the love of Judy and Marvin and the Kamensky family. We all are blessed to have wonderful memories to cherish and continue to have Judy in our lives for friendship and share her with our M3F family.
Our sincere condolences to Judy and the family. xoxo Beth & Steve

We met Marvin and Judy through the Mind Music and Movement Foundation in Palm Beach Gardens, specifically the Voices of Parkinson’s Chorus, and grew to love them dearly. Marvin’s beautiful voice and fun-loving personality were such a joy. We are deeply saddened by his passing but know the many warm and loving memories he and Judy created together will be a great comfort. May his memory be for a blessing.

My thoughts are with you during this difficult time and your loss. Your dad was a pillar of the Chicago legal community and on the golf course at Bryn for many years, and carried respect with him in both places. I remember him as a kid at bar mitzvahs and Flamenco Towers in Florida. I know he lived with poor health the last few years and I am sure rests easy knowing what a great legacy he leaves behind. May his memory be a blessing over the coming days and years.
