I worked in the nursing home and I cared for Rochelle sometimes. Over time, we developed a close relationship. She was one of the only people who saw me for who I was and loved me for every part of me. They typically tell us in that kind of work to not get too attached, but that’s one of the best parts. She was one of the kindest and sweetest people I have ever met. She gave me a hug every time and we told each other “I love you” before I had to leave, or before she went to bed at 6 pm haha. I’m only 18 and we didn’t know each other for that long, but she meant so much to me. I hope it’s okay that I’m visiting her grave. I never got to say goodbye and I am distraught by that. If you see random yellow tulips where she’s buried, that was me, and I hope that was okay. I went to visit her a couple of weeks ago and I asked around where she was. And it was not the answer I thought I was going to get. I hope she’s safe and happy wherever she is. She had a huge impact on my life and I would do anything for one more hug or one more “I love you” . Rest in piece sweet angel. I miss you so damn much, and I promise to visit where you’re resting from time to time.
